Policies & Reservations at South Court Inn

Minimum Stays:

     We accept reservations for 1 night at the rates posted on the Accommodations page for Sunday through Thursday except in the month of October when the 2 day minimum applies.  For Fridays and Saturdays we require a minimum 2-night stay or you can consider our premium priced 1-Night Weekend described below.  Stays of 4 days or more enjoy an automatic 10% discount.

* Weekend rates apply to all 3 days of Federal holiday weekends.

Cancellations:

     We recognize unforeseeable events sometimes arise that require our guests to reschedule or cancel reservations. We will do everything we can to accommodate those requests without imposing unacceptable financial strains on our business. Therefore we observe the following policies on rescheduling and canceling reservations:

A. Requests to reschedule or cancel reservations at least 14 days before scheduled arrival date are accepted and refunds provided without penalty.
B. Rescheduling and cancellations with less than 14 days advance notice are charged for the agreed rate and days and a gift certificate is issued for that value for later use within one year after date of reservation.
C. "No shows" are charged the full rate and no gift certificates will be issued.
D. Cancellation with less than 14 days notice must be made by telephone at 540-843-0980.

Deposit:

Credit card number or check equivalent to first night's stay required to establish firm reservations.

Children/Extra Persons:

     The cottage living room has a daybed which converts to 2 twin beds allowing us to accommodate 2 well-behaved children age 6 or older or 2 additional adult guests. Please note: the cottage is sold first as a dual-occupancy accommodation, additional guests in excess of the basic dual occupancy will incur a $25 additional person charge as well as use of one or both of the twin beds.  So to be clear, if 3 people are staying in the cottage and all three beds are used, the additional person charge is $50/ night, not $25.

     We gladly quote special rates for multiple stays of 4 nights or longer to help families stay in the cottage.

     If you bring children and you opt for the B&B stay in the cottage we will serve you breakfast in the cottage as we frequently have guests who seek "peace and quiet" which we honor in the main house.

Pets:

We have arranged with a nearby boarding kennel to accept and care for guest's pets during their visits at their own expense.

Smoking:

     Welcomed outside the Inn and on the porch. There is no smoking permitted inside B&B or the cottage. Smoking inside the Inn or Cottage will result in a charge for smoke cleaning.

Special Diet and Food Allergy Issues:

     Please let us know immediately (during reservation process) if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies so we can plan accordingly. We provide vegetarian, gluten free and non-pork breakfasts if we are advised in time for us to obtain alternatives.

Check In Time: 3:00PM

     Wine hour is 5pm to 6pm for a complimentary glass of Virginia wine on your arrival day!  Late checkins after 8pm please call ahead to make arrangements.

Check Out Time: 11:00 AM

Parking:

Private off-street parking spaces provided on the premises for Inn guests.

Friday or Saturday Night Getaway

     We realize that it is sometimes impossible for you to get away for a 2-day weekend, but we also face a significant loss of potential income if we rent a room to someone on Friday or Saturday night and nobody rents it for the other weekend night. So, we've developed this solution as a compromise for those who can only visit for a single night on weekends.  Available within 6 days of the night of stay for all Fridays and Saturdays EXCEPT those falling on federal holidays, during the fall foliage season (Oct. 1 - Nov. 18) or the month of February.

Single night weekend room is priced at $30 above regular weekend room rate.
