Mimslyn Inn Circa '31
Fine dining around the corner here in Luray. Circa ’31 is not open every day so be sure to check their hours of operation so as not to be disappointed. They also offer live music on the veranda during the warmer months.
What can we say? 34 minutes away is one of only 15 Michelin three star restaurants in the US, a total of 117 in the world. This is a “bucket list” dining experience for sure, reservations required, check out the link to their website.
Just Opened in June 2018 and USA Toda’s 2nd best new restaurant in the US(!), Three Blacksmiths serves a fixed weekly dinner menu of local, seasonal, handcrafted foods from Rappahannock County, Virginia and nearby. Very intimate and limited seating. Reservations required and are currently running 6 months in advance. Alternatively get on the email waitlist.
Broad Porch is the latest addition to the downtown Luray scene. Open from 8-3 daily and 9-2 Sundays they offer a selection of coffees teas and light snacks and a pleasant seating area overlooking the Hawksbill Creek which flows through the middle of town. We also get our breakfast coffee from them so we hope you enjoy it!
Griffin Tavern in Rappahannock County- Flint Hill, Virginia is a casual dining restaurant and serves as the local social gathering place for everyone.
Located in a renovated 1800’s home with 3 cozy dining rooms, outdoor seasonal seating, and featuring the “Cheers Like” pub where locals gather, and passers by come to dine on an eclectic mix of menu items.
The go to place in Luray for Mexican food is very popular with the locals. The menu is large and varied with a huge variety of tasty dishes. They have a good selection of Mexican beers and the Margaritas (if you like that sort of thing!) are very nice and won’t break the bank.
Located just on the other side of the the Blue Ridge in the little hamlet of Sperryville, Rappahannock Pizza Kitchen offers wonderful wood fired pizza in a cozy setting colocated with the Sperryville Country Store and Francis Bar. For pizza, highly recommended.
The Valley Cork is a great place to just relax a bit. They provide a wide selection of wines specializing in many local wineries and small eats to complement the wine. They are also a lovely venue for private events. So order a glass of your new favorite wine, some munchies and unwind in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. A very fun alternative in “downtown.”
A Luray favorite, Triple Crown has arguably some of the best BBQ in the area! It’s a roadside stand that is open seasonally and located near the Luray Zoo on Route 211 west of town. For BBQ, highly recommended.
A nice selection of gourmet sandwiches and wonderful salads are what you’ll find at West Main Market. The staff is friendly and quick, the selections unexpected. See for yourself and enjoy! West Main is just a 10-minute walk from the South Court Inn.
