Wine and Whiskey

The Valley Cork

The Valley Cork is a great place to just relax a bit. They provide a wide selection of wines specializing in many local wineries and small eats to complement the wine. They are also a lovely venue for private events. So order a glass of your new favorite wine, some munchies and unwind in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. A very fun alternative in “downtown.”

Discover Shenandoah

The go-to resource for non-park fun is the “Blue Ridge Whisky Wine Loop” of Discover Shenandoah. Locally organized and vetted, the best local wineries, distilleries, antique shops and restaurants may all be found in one easy to use website.

Wisteria Farm & Vineyard

Only 10 minutes away by car Wisteria is a working farm and vineyard.  It’s a happy gathering spot for locals and visitors alike.  We’ve had guests come from as far away as Delaware to roll grape leaves and have a wonderful time here … we were there as well! Of course most people do the wine tasting and sample some tasty snacks and typically walk away with a few bottles for later!

Copper Fox Distillery

Nestled in “downtown” Sperryville, the Copper Fox is a must see sight in the area. They distill whiskey and rye the Scottish way and also make gin. You don’t have to like whiskey to be able to appreciate what it takes to do it and the process is fascinating. As you walk in, you are greeted with the most agreeable aromas and during the free tour can learn to appreciate what it takes to create a fine, world-class whiskey. 26 minutes drive.

Gadino Cellars

Gadino is a wonderful small winery just outside Sperryville. Family owned and operated they make wine the Italian way… And do it right as they have received numerous awards for many of them. Here you cannot only sample the wine but maybe get in a few games of bocce ball in the back yard! Friendly and personable if you want to know about wine these are the people to ask! We love these guys and often carry their wines for our packages.  29 minutes drive.

Rappahannock Cellars

By far the largest winery in the region, Rappahannock is open every day, has a large tasting room and gathering areas and makes a great set of wines as well! As large as they are, this is still a family owned and operated business. They hail from the wine making capitol of the US, California, bringing a formidable skill and knowledge level to Virginia. You won’t be disappointed here; the wines and people are fabulous. 39 minutes drive.
